    following guidelines:

Wash feet every day with soap and water and dry them well, especially
between the toes (remember, fungi love warm, damp places)2
Don’t walk barefoot in public areas — wear flip-flops, sandals, or water
    shoes instead2
When at home, take off shoes to let feet air out3
Avoid wearing tight, closed shoes (especially vinyl or rubber ones) that
make your feet hot and sweaty — particularly during the summer3,4
Wear socks made from breathable materials, like cotton, rather than
materials that absorb and hold sweat, like polyester4
    Never borrow or share shoes3
Wear different shoes throughout the week to let shoes dry out3
Dust feet and shoes with antifungal powder2
